195.6 This girl is on fire!

So this is my new mantra for whenever I don't feel like doing something.  Not the whole song, since I don't know the lyrics, but I can replay the chorus over and over and over for every step, squat, push-up, you get the picture.

195..wow.  That's 75 lbs GONE!  So now that I know I can lose weight, keep it off and proved to myself that I do have self control, I've decided to go for it.  My new goal..kick ass bod!  Yep.  Never had one before, so figured, why not.  At least this way, I can put off all those old age issues even longer.  Hubby is very excited.

For the record, I'm not doing this for attention.  Hate attention.  I'm doing this so that no one has to wipe my ass for me when I'm 80.  So I don't suffer dementia or lose my driving license.  Hate to be a burden on others.  That's the independent in me.  Probably why I don't have a partner in this.  Always going solo.

In other news, soon they will reopen this soccer park I pass on the way home from work, it has a walking track going around it.  I need to get some Imagine Dragons songs on my MP3 player (yes, I'm old school, no Ipod stuff for me.)  Love their song 'Whatever it takes'.  Good walking song.  Figure I'll change before I leave work and sweat out the toxins while getting my steps in.  My current goal is 14K steps a day.

Also, I cooked a corned beef brisket earlier in the week.  Many leftovers so I made this: cabbage-and-corned-beef-chowder.  317 calories a serving.  YUM!

done!

So it took a few more days than I anticipated, but I finally reached my goal of being under 200 lbs.  Turns out whenever you drop about 20 lbs you should update your myfitnesspal app to reflect the new weight and it will tell you your new daily caloric goal.  I've been eating almost 1700 calories a day when I should have been around 1560.  And this is to just lost 1 pound a week.  I've been upping my steps and finally doing squats, lunges and push ups as well.

In another 20 lbs I'm going to focus on toning.

Eat less, move more.

National Pi day

It seems fitting that today is the day for Stephen Hawking to die.  I will miss his wit and intellect and his occasional cameo's on Big Bang Theory.  Amazing human, I hope you find the answers you were looking for sir.

My favorite quote by Mr. Hawking -

200 lbs BOO-YA

Yeah me!  I woke up to 200 even!  It's been a rocky road I've traveled trying to lose weight.  I'd lose 5 lbs, gain 2 back.  Constant back & forth.  But so worth it.  Tomorrow I hope to wake up to 199.

Haven't been this weight since 2003 when I dropped down to 160 for a little while for my wedding.  Only took a month to balloon up to 180 then it was 210 in such a short period of time.  Putting the blame on Hamburger Helper and 80/20 beef.  Now I know better.  Avoid pre-packaged carbs as much as possible.

Funny, tomorrow I'm making biscuits & sausage gravy for dinner (hubby requested).  I plan to eat very little of that meal.

Eat less, move more!  Cos if I can do it at 47 and a natural lazy person, anyone can do this.

Stuck @ 202

Well, not really seeing as I gained back 2 lbs and finally lost them again.  On the plus side, I've moved on from size 26 pants to size 20.  Whoo hoo!  I think I will be content as size 16.  Good goal to have.  One thing I have learned this week.  Avoid Mellow Mushroom because their pizza will make you gain weight.  Especially when you eat beyond the serving size.  Lesson learned.

Eat less...move more.
